2017 Sporting Clay Event

September 9, 2017

Trooper Kenton Iwaniec loved hunting and the outdoors. To honor his memory and to help reduce the number of lives lost as a result of impaired driving, the Trooper Kenton Iwaniec Memorial Foundation will hold its sixth annual sporting clay event on September 9, 2017 at the Shooting Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. All profits will go to the purchase of breathalyzers (PBTs) for the Pennsylvania State Police and other law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth.  Participants of all skill levels are welcome. All teams will begin at 10:00 am in a shotgun start. Trappers will be positioned at each of the 17 stations. A complimentary shotgun will be at each station for those shooters who do not bring their own gun. Ammunition can be purchased at the event. For shooters who opt to bring their own ammunition, a minimum of 100 shells is needed. Shooters participating in the optional skill activities will need additional shells.

Nearly 10,000 families each year are destroyed by impaired drivers.  The aftermath of Kenton’s death has changed the Iwaniec family forever.  In order to find meaning in his death, honor his life, and most importantly to do anything to prevent other families from going through what they’ve experienced, the Iwaniecs stress the importance of responsible choices as an effective and simple way to reduce DUIs.  All profits will go to the purchase of breathalyzers (PBTs) for the Pennsylvania State Police and other law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Since 2009, the Trooper Iwaniec Memorial Foundation has distributed 1214 PBTs. Thank you for your support; with your help we can shape the future.
